You know how we’re mad for an adventure? Well, camping at Byron has always been up the top of our cracking holiday hit list; we flat out love it up there, and this summer we decided to mix a little business with pleasure on the far north coast of NSW.
You see the fine folk at Flash Camp have created a full-service pop-up hotel in Byron for the summer and their set-up is something to write home about. Think spacious flash tents filled with real beds, bamboo furniture, Armadillo&Co rugs, and, yep, Pony Rider soft furnishings right throughout each tent. Yeah!
The Flash Camp guys have thought of everything. For the foodies, they’ve created a pop-up gourmand’s wonderland with help from award-winning Newrybar locals, Harvest. They serve breakfast each morning, have a coffee station which serves barista made Allpress coffees for the caffeine lovers; there’s a bar that serves beer, wine, signature Harvest & Flash Camp cocktails – in Pony Rider tumblers, naturally - plus grazing plates; and of course a dinner set up on select Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings (just make sure you book!).
Travel extraordinaire The Vista recently visited Flash Camp to test-drive the space. Julz, (@the_vista) is no stranger to the luxe camping phenomenon. She’s traveled far and wide, and well, she checked it out and gave it the massive thumbs up.
If you love the Pony Rider fit-out within your tent, want your own Pony Rider cocktail tumbler or see anything else within the space that you just need for your place back home, there’s merch available to buy onsite too. Told you they’d thought of everything!
The site itself resides within a private area at the northern end of the Byron Holiday Park, which is literally five minutes from town, and has direct access to Tallow’s Beach. The Flash Camp pop-up hotel will be open until January 14, 2017, so grab your mates, book a tent and start your adventure!
As for us, we’ll be Flash Camping up a summer storm in early Jan. Bring on the road trip!!
